Brookdale Area Subdivision Road Reconstruction

GRAEF was retained to prepare design plans and specifications for road reconstruction improvements for the Brookdale Area Subdivision, located between Root River Parkway, West Layton Avenue and S. 92nd Street, in the City of Greenfield, WI.

The proposed improvements consisted of approximately 2 miles of subdivision roadway reconstruction consisting of two lanes that totaled 26 feet in width from face of curb to face of curb. Additional improvements included installation of approximately 10,600 feet of new storm sewer to replace the existing storm sewer system. The Brookdale Area Subdivision consists of four subwatersheds totaling 87 acres, and includes two storm sewer outfalls directly connected to the Root River.

The scope of services included:
• Preliminary design to identify layout, stormwater management practices and associated cost
• Meetings with residents and City officials
• Public hearings for assessments
• Coordination with Milwaukee Parks, MMSD and WDNR
• Preparation of WDNR Chapter 30 permit
• Preparation of Stormwater Management Plan to meet local and state ordinance requirements
• Preparation of River Hydraulics to meet MMSD Chapter 30 criteria
• Preparation of plans and specifications for construction
• Assist with bidding process
• Assist City with construction administration
• Construction inspection
