ISTHA Open Road Tolling

GRAEF recently completed designs for four toll plaza segments along the Central Tri-State Tollway (I-294) totaling $90 million on this major beltway around the City of Chicago. The design of these plazas was completed in six months to allow for construction to begin in the fall of 2005.

Critical elements of the design include interchange layout, roadway geometry, structures, retaining walls, drainage design, plaza design, lighting and traffic control plans that allow for four lanes of traffic at all times.
