South Bank
South Bank will encompass 3.6 million square feet of retail, office, hotel and residential space on one of the city’s last major parcels of undeveloped land.
South Bank is an urban infill district on 27.3 acres on the south shore of Tempe Town Lake. The design includes the City of Tempe’s continuous linear park that parallels Tempe Town Lake and connects South Bank to other developments on the lake, the around-the clock activities on Mill Avenue and the ASU campus. Upon completion, South Bank will be a part of an overall lake district that includes more than 10 million square feet of new development activity. Light-rail and the airport are minutes away. It is this degree of connectivity within and beyond the District that will make South Bank unique to the Valley.
The project is adjacent to Tempe Town Lake, which required GRAEF to be involved in extensive coordination with local and regional agencies. Specific work completed by GRAEF for the project included full entitlement and Planned Area Development approval services, site infrastructure design and construction administration services of new site sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water mains; demolition, grading and paving; lake recovery wells, striping and signing, and, permitting. Stormwater management services include planning and design of water quality management facilities to improve water quality.
